Six Simple Machines

Presented through GoogleDocs

THE PLAN: Our next project will span from now until Thanksgiving break!  We will report to the library every day from now until then to learn about a hot new online tool called “GoogleDocs”.  We will work with partners to create presentations that demonstrate what we know about the six machines from which all others are based.

THE PURPOSE:  This project will allow us to show that we are capable of teaming up and using cutting edge technology to create online presentations.  We will not just create any online presentations, though.  Our projects will reflect that we have learned how machines help us do work by changing the forces that are applied to objects.  They will also prove that we understand the many uses of the six simple machines.

THE PROCESS:  These are the steps that we will follow in order to reach our final goal:

1.  We will read instructions and understand the expectations for the project.

2.  We will discuss how to create presentations in GoogleDocs (view examples).

3.  We will be assigned to our teams.

4.  We will choose a team leader and assign responsibilities to our group members.

5.  We will review notes on the six simple machines from Mr. Martella’s website (Click HERE for class notes- Click HERE to view the in-class presentation).

6.  We will create our presentations.

7.  We will present our final products.

THE PRODUCT:  All presentations will be due Wednesday, November 26.  Provide your best effort, stay focused, and create a great presentation.  The top 3 presentations from the 7th grade will be displayed on Mr. Martella’s Webpage for all to see!
